The USYD NTEU’s 2021-2023 bargaining round went from August 2021 to June 2023, over which period we took a total of 9 days of strike action. The final agreement reached contained some important union wins, but also a number of compromises on important conditions, leading us to argue it needed to be voted down. The vote to continue the campaign with a further three day strike on 18th April failed by 290 votes (41%) to 374 votes (53%). The final vote on 13th of June on the Branch Committee endorsement to reject the agreement failed by 172 votes (20%) to 682 (78%).
